Barack Obama’s historic campaign is regarded as one of the most effective presidential campaigns ever run.  The use of technology can be attributed to a lot of his success.  No other campian has taken advantage of modern advertisement as well as Obama has.  His use of online advertisement has proven especially successful.

Many credit the success of campains directly to the amount of money the campaign has to use.  While campaign funds are definitely not the only factor that determines the outcome of an election, they do play a key role in any election.   Obama’s campaign was able to considerably out-spend McCain’s.  He was the first presidential nomine to allow donations of any size to be received directly on his website through the internet.  This encouraged donations because voters were able to easily donate funds to the Obama campaign.

A candidate’s website is a main source of information to many voters.  Barack Obama’s website allowed voters to easily access information about himself on his website.  His website is well organized and presents a clear and positive message to viewers.  It also contains useful videos of Obama advertisements and other informative videos.

Not only has Barack Obama brought about change by becoming the first African-American president, but also the way campaigns will be ran.  He has set a precedent for future candidates on how to successfully use the internet to advertise.

The Mohie “Juice Pack” is every Iphone user answer to extra battery power. The ” Juice Pack” externally attaches to the back of an iPhone.  It supplies the iPhone with around 6 hours of talk time. The unit can be charged through a power cord. The pack is especially usefull for user that spend extended amount of time on their iPhone and don’t have time to charge their iPhone.

ENIAC- short for Electronic Numerical Integrator And Computer,[1][2] was the first general-purpose electronic computer. It was the size of a gymnasium.  Swithces were operated manually to compute simple mathematical problems. It was desgined for the U.S.A military to calculate artillery trajectories.

Vaccum Tube- in electronics, a vacuum tube, electron tube (in North America), thermionic valve, or just valve (elsewhere, especially in Britain) is a device used to amplify, switch, otherwise modify, or create an electrical signal by controlling the movement of electrons in a low-pressure space. They were a couple inches long.

ICintegrated circuit (also known as IC, microcircuit, microchip, silicon chip, or chip) is a miniaturized electronic circuit (consisting mainly of semiconductor devices, as well as passive components) that has been manufactured in the surface of a thin substrate of semiconductor material. Integrated circuits are used in almost all electronic equipment in use today and have revolutionized the world of electronics. Created by radar scientest Geoffrey Dummer.

Transistors-    a transistor is a semiconductor device commonly used to amplify or switch electronic signals. A transistor is made of a solid piece of a semiconductor material, with at least three terminals for connection to an external circuit. A voltage or current applied to one pair of the transistor’s terminals changes the current flowing through another pair of terminals. Because the controlled power can be much larger than the controlling power, the transistor provides amplification of a signal. The transistor is the fundamental building block of modern electronic devices, and is used in radio, telephone, computer and other electronic systems. Some transistors are packaged individually but most are found in integrated circuits.

Timex Sinclair-  It was a home computer

THe first home computer was an apple computer.

Turing machine-

Turing machines are basic abstract symbol-manipulating devices which, despite their simplicity, can be adapted to simulate the logic of any computer algorithm. They were described in 1936 by Alan Turing. Turing machines are not intended as a practical computing technology, but a thought experiment about the limits of mechanical computation. Thus they were not actually constructed. Studying their abstract properties yields many insights into computer science and complexity theory.

Apple Computers-

The Apple I, also known as the Apple-1, was an early personal computer. They were designed and hand-built by Steve Wozniak.[1][2] Wozniak’s friend Steve Jobs had the idea of selling the computer. The Apple I was Apple‘s first product, demonstrated in April 1976 at the Homebrew Computer Club in Palo Alto, California. It went on sale in July 1976 at a price of $666.66[3], because Wozniak liked repeating digits[4] and because they originally sold it to a local shop for $500 and added a one-third markup. About 200 units were produced. Unlike other hobbyist computers of its day, which were sold as kits, the Apple I was a fully assembled circuit board containing about 30 chips. However, to make a working computer, users still had to add a case, power supply, keyboard, and display. An optional board providing a cassette interface for storage was later released at a cost of $75.

Bill Gates first product was the DOS operating system. He made his money by licensing his operating system to companies. This revolutionized the industry becuase others followed him.

Becuase grade 11 is an important year in my acedemic carear I would like to acheive the hight GPA possible for me.  Many different types of technology intererst me, but video game consoles excite me the most, especialy anything to do about Xbox 360.  I find this type of technoloy interesting becuase I really like Xbox 360.  I definetly  could not live without my Xbox 360 becuase it is my main source of entertainment.  I would like to learn a large variety of things about computers this year and am looking forward to the year!

Hard Drive: a non-volatile storage device which stores digitally encoded data on rapidly rotating platters with magnetic surfaces.
CPU:
A Central Processing Unit (CPU), or sometimes just called processor, is a description of a class of logic machines that can execute computer programs.

Motherboard: A motherboard is the central or primary printed circuit board (PCB) making up a complex electronic system, such as a modern computer.

Power Supply: Power supply is a reference to a source of electrical power. A device or system that supplies electrical or other types of energy to an output load or group of loads is called a power supply unit or PSU

PCI: The Peripheral Component Interconnect, or PCI Standard (commonly PCI), specifies a computer bus for attaching peripheral devices to a computer motherboard.

PCI Express: Peripheral Component Interconnect Express, officially abbreviated as PCI-E or PCIe, is a computer expansion card interface format introduced by Intel in 2004

USB: In information technology, Universal Serial Bus (USB) is a serial bus standard to interface devices to a host computer

Firewire: Apple’s name for the IEEE-139:4

IEEE-139:4 The IEEE 1394 interface is a serial bus interface standard for high-speed communications and isochronous real-time data transfer, frequently used in a personal computer (and digital audio and digital video).

LCD: A liquid crystal display (LCD) is an electro-optical amplitude modulator realized as a thin, flat display device made up of any number of color or monochrome pixels arrayed in front of a light source or reflector.

Plasma (in relation to screens) : A plasma display panel (PDP) is a type of flat panel display now commonly used for large TV displays (typically above 37-inch or 940 mm). Many tiny cells located between two panels of glass hold an inert mixture of noble gases (neon and xenon). The gas in the cells is electrically turned into a plasma which then excites phosphors to emit light.

HDMI: The High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) is a compact audio/video connector interface for transmitting uncompressed digital streams. It represents a digital alternative to consumer analog standards such as Radio Frequency (RF) coaxial cable, composite video, S-Video, SCART, component video, D-Terminal, and VGA.

RAM: Random access memory (usually known by its acronym, RAM) is a type of computer data storage. Today it takes the form of integrated circuits that allow the stored data to be accessed in any pie order, i.e. at random

Flash Memory: Flash memory is non-volatile computer memory that can be electrically erased and reprogrammed. It is a technology that is primarily used in memory cards and USB flash drives for general storage and transfer of data between computers and other digital products.

AGP: The Accelerated Graphics Port (also called Advanced Graphics Port, often shortened to AGP) is a high-speed point-to-point channel for attaching a graphics card to a computer‘s motherboard, primarily to assist in the acceleration of 3D computer graphics. Since 2004, AGP is being progressively phased out in favor of PCI Express.

DVD: DVD (also known as “Digital Versatile Disc” or “Digital Video Disc” – see Etymology) is a popular optical disc storage media format.
